Mumbai, Dec 27 (NationPress) Actress Chitrangda Singh reflects on the profound social issues depicted in “Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders”, which delve into patriarchy, class disparities, and inheritance politics prevalent in Indian families. She noted that these themes became more pronounced to her during filming.

When questioned about the subtle commentary on social structures in “Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders”, Chitrangda was asked how cognizant she was of these elements while acting, and if they influenced her performance choices.

During her first discussion with director Honey Trehan, she admitted that she did not initially realize how crucial the social commentary would become within the film's narrative.

“To be honest, during my first narration with Honey Trehan, I wasn't entirely certain that this aspect would play such a significant role in the story. However, as we began filming and I observed how the dialogues highlighted these themes, it became clearer,” Chitrangda shared with IANS.

She emphasized that this layered storytelling approach exemplifies Honey Trehan’s unique filmmaking style.

“Now, I truly appreciate how vital the social commentary was for Honey Trehan. His filmmaking is remarkable; he doesn’t merely convey a single message in a scene, but instead, he embeds numerous layers into each moment,” she remarked.

Chitrangda also expressed that this nuanced perspective distinguishes Raat Akeli Hai from typical murder mysteries.

“That’s why it stands out from a standard murder mystery. This aspect has become an integral part of the storyline,” she concluded.

“Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders” is a crime thriller directed by Honey Trehan, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte. The sequel unfolds years after the original, with Inspector Jatil Yadav returning as a more seasoned yet morally steadfast officer. When new suspicious deaths are linked to the esteemed Bansal family, Jatil is summoned to investigate again.

What seems like an evident case quickly spirals into complexity. The Bansals are not only wealthier and more influential but also adept at concealing their secrets. Each family member presents a curated version of the truth while safeguarding their own interests.

Chitrangda will soon be featured in Battle Of Galwan alongside superstar Salman Khan. This film is based on the Galwan stand-off between India and its neighboring nation, China, which occurred on June 15, 2020, during the peak of the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in India.
