Los Angeles, Aug 30 (NationPress) The renowned British rock band Coldplay has been compelled to adjust the schedule for their upcoming performances in London. The band expressed their deep regret after having to shift the last two dates of their 10-show series at Wembley Stadium due to strikes affecting the London Underground.
Led by Chris Martin, the band stated that the strikes, which will see members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union participating in industrial action from September 5 for a period of seven days, have made it unfeasible for the concerts to proceed on September 7 and 8, as reported by Mirror.co.uk.
The band released a statement on social media saying, "We regret to inform our fans that, due to the planned industrial action on the London Underground, we must reschedule our last two shows of the current Wembley Stadium run. Without a Tube service, it’s impossible to transport 82,000 attendees safely to and from the event, meaning we cannot secure an event license for September 7 and 8, 2025. To avoid cancellation, we’ve decided to reschedule."
According to Mirror.co.uk, the concert originally set for September 7 will now take place on September 6, while the show on September 8 has been postponed to September 12.
The band conveyed, "We sincerely apologize for the disappointment, frustration, and inconvenience this situation may cause."
Tickets will remain valid for the new dates, but fans unable to attend the rescheduled performances may request a full refund from their point of purchase until noon on September 2.
The band confirmed that shows on August 30, August 31, September 3, and September 4 will proceed as planned.
Coldplay’s Wembley run will mark a historic achievement as they become the first act to perform 10 shows at the national football stadium within a single year, surpassing the previous record of eight shows held by Taylor Swift and Take That. These concerts are part of the band’s Music of the Spheres world tour.
