Chennai, Dec 23 (NationPress) Excited by the outstanding work of director Suresh Rajakumari on the police thriller 'Sirai', set to be released on December 25 this year, producer S S Lalit Kumar has gifted a brand new car to the director prior to the film's launch!

The movie has garnered acclaim from both critics and industry insiders during special preview screenings ahead of its release, featuring lead performances by Vikram Prabhu and L K Akshay Kumar.

The car was officially presented to the director’s mother at a pre-release function organized by the film’s production team. Esteemed director Vetrimaaran, who has mentored Suresh Rajakumari, handed over the car keys to the director's mother, surrounded by numerous stars and media representatives.

The film's trailer showcases Vikram Prabhu as a police officer tasked with escorting a prisoner, Abdul Rauf (portrayed by newcomer L K Akshay), to the Sivagangai court.

During the trailer, the prisoner pleads with Vikram not to restrain him while moving from the bus station to the courthouse. However, the officers refuse to comply, stating that murder suspects must be handcuffed and escorted publicly: 'You should have considered the consequences before committing murder.'

As the story unfolds, it becomes apparent that Abdul's predicament stems from difficulties in his relationship with his girlfriend, leading to his escape from custody, armed with one of the officers' rifles. The police face the daunting challenge of recapturing him or facing dire consequences.

Inspired by real-life events, the film’s narrative is crafted by director Tamizh, acclaimed for his previous work 'Taanakaran'. It is reported that Tamizh drew upon personal experiences for this story.

Director Suresh Rajakumari, co-director to the well-known Vetrimaran, has both penned and directed this film.

In addition to Vikram Prabhu, actress Anantha stars alongside him, while L K Akshay Kumar makes his acting debut as the producer's son. Actress Anishma plays the female lead opposite Akshay Kumar.

Sources indicate that producer S S Lalit Kumar has invested heavily in this high-budget film, which features an impressive technical crew.

The film’s soundtrack is composed by renowned music director Justin Prabhakaran, with cinematography by Madesh Manickam. The editing is handled by the esteemed Philomin Raj, while stunts are choreographed by Prabhu. The executive producers are Arun K and Manikandan.

Filming occurred in multiple locations, including Chennai, Sivagangai, and Vellore.
