Chennai, Mar 15 (NationPress) Renowned comedian and actor Daniel Annie Pope, whose movie ‘Robber’ has recently premiered, has revealed that he has lost 15 kilos for his role in director A R K Saravan’s forthcoming film ‘Maragadha Naanayam 2’, starring Aadhi Pinisetty in the lead.
In an exclusive conversation with IANS, Pope, who portrays a character with complex traits in ‘Robber’, stated, “I have shed this weight for my role in director Saravan’s Maragadha Naanayam 2 as well as for another project I am currently working on.”
It’s worth noting that Maragadha Naanayam 2 is the sequel to the successful film ‘Maragadha Naanayam’, which centered around a valuable emerald stone that is believed to bring misfortune.
Providing insights on the sequel, Pope mentioned, “The continuation will follow the storyline of the first film closely. Most characters from the original will reprise their roles in this sequel. The plot unfolds several years after the events of Maragadha Naanayam. In the sequel, all our characters are now married.”
Pope indicated that he will commence filming his scenes in mid-April, expressing optimism that the shooting will conclude before the end of July this year.
The original Maragadha Naanayam, penned and directed by A RK Saravan, was a major hit upon its release in June 2017. The film featured actress Nikki Galrani as the female lead and included a large ensemble cast of comedians such as Anand Raj, Daniel Annie Pope, Munishkanth, M S Bhaskar, Kaali Venkat, and Brahmanandam, among others. The film also showcased veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao and character actor Mime Gopi in crucial roles.
