Chennai, Feb 16 (NationPress) The highly anticipated fantasy comedy adventure, 'Maragadha Naanayam 2', directed by A R K Saravan, officially commenced production with a lavish pooja ceremony in the city on Monday.
Witnesses at the pooja reported that actor Karthi initiated the film's journey by clapping the board for the opening shot, while director Venkat Prabhu called out "action" and "cut" for the inaugural scene. The script was ceremoniously handed over to the crew by actor Arya.
Sources within the team revealed that filming is slated to kick off around February 20 this year.
The original 'Maragadha Naanayam', released in 2017, became a major hit, prompting the producers to create a sequel. Earlier this year, Passion Studios, one of the film's production houses, unveiled a teaser of the upcoming installment.
Producer Sudhan Sundaram expressed his excitement, stating, "I am thrilled to be part of 'Maragadha Naanayam 2', a project that holds a special place in my heart as I am a huge admirer of the original hit. Directed by ARK Saravan and produced by Sudhan Sundaram, Manish Singhal, Durgaram Choudhary, Dev, and KV Durai under the banners of Passion Studios, Dangal TV, RDC Media, Axess Film Factory, and Good Show, this sequel will once again feature Aadhi and Priya Bhavani Shankar in lead roles.
The film will also showcase actors Sathyaraj, Nikki Galrani Pinisetty, Munishkanth, Anandaraj, Danie, Arunraja Kamaraj, and Muruganandam in significant roles.
The musical score will be composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, with cinematography handled by PV Shankar. NK Rahul will serve as the art director, and Thirumalai Rajan R will take on editing duties. The dialogues for this fantasy adventure will be authored by Rajesh Kannan, with stunts choreographed by PC Stunts.
