Mumbai, March 21 (NationPress) The absence of Bollywood icon Deepika Padukone from the recent exclusive screening of her husband Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has ignited a whirlwind of discussions on social media.

Interestingly, just a day later, she was photographed at a concert in Mumbai with her in-laws, which only fueled speculation.

Numerous social media users have voiced their concerns regarding her lack of presence at the film screening, with many posts criticizing Deepika and juxtaposing her concert appearance against her absence from the film’s event.

One user remarked, “Deepika Padukone was seen with her in-laws today at a private gathering in Mumbai. But did you notice her at the screening of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge? NO!! Why doesn’t she support her husband’s film? I’m not against her, but something seems off.”

Deepika has also been subject to online criticism for not showing support for her husband or his movie 'Dhurandhar-2- The Revenge'.

Highlighting this, another social media user pointed out, “Deepika Padukone wrote lengthy posts on Instagram about Gaza and JNU, yet she didn’t even share a story to congratulate her husband Ranveer Singh and the Dhurandhar 2 team on their achievement. It says a lot!!”

Another netizen added, “@AdityaDharFilms should have considered casting someone else instead of @RanveerOfficial. After calling out his wife @deepikapadukone for her JNU involvement, @RanveerOfficial has blocked me.”

Further comments included, “She is opposed to Aditya Dhar because he commented on her working hours issue, plus she doesn’t align with nationalist sentiments like we do. She supported the JNU tukde tukde group, and rumors suggest she met Dawood in Dubai before 2019.”

Another user alleged, “If she shows support for him, SRK won’t be pleased, and she might lose out on future film opportunities.”

One more user speculated, “Because she doesn’t want to irritate SRK and jeopardize her upcoming projects with him.”

A user also raised concerns about her previous JNU appearance, questioning, “Isn’t she a supporter and advocate for JNU?”

For those unaware, three days have passed since the release of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, yet the actress has not shared any promotional content on her social media to endorse the film or Ranveer Singh.

In contrast, during the immense success of the first installment of Dhurandhar in December 2025, Deepika passionately praised both the film and her husband’s performance via multiple social media posts.

This time, however, her silence on the film’s positive reception is striking, and the reasons behind it remain unclear.

As of now, Deepika has opted not to address the ongoing online discussions, and we have not reached out to her for any statements.

Concerning Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, the film, featuring Ranveer Singh, premiered on March 19 and has been creating significant buzz since its release.
