Chennai, April 2 (NationPress) Director Ajay Gnanamuthu, renowned for his work on the Demonte Colony franchise featuring actor Arulnithi in the lead role, has officially announced that production on the third chapter of this series has commenced.

In a recent post on his X timeline, he shared a picture of his crew in Sliema, Malta, captioning it, “Demonte Colony 3 work in progress.” He also tagged his team members who were present in the snapshot.

This exciting update has sparked enthusiasm among fans of the beloved series, amplifying anticipation for the upcoming third installment of Ajay Gnanamuthu's highly awaited horror-thriller Demonte Colony 2, starring Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar.

The Demonte Colony franchise holds a unique significance as it is named after a real location in Chennai, which is intriguingly known to be haunted.

Launched in 2015, the franchise has set a new standard in the horror genre of Tamil cinema. The first film, Demonte Colony, became an instant sensation. Eight years after its debut, the sequel was released, which also achieved remarkable success.

The second installment featured notable actors including Arun Pandian, Muthu Kumar, Meenakshi Govindarajan, and Archana Ravichandran in crucial roles. The cinematography for this part was handled by Harish Kannan, while music was composed by Sam C S. The art direction was overseen by Ravi Pandi, and editing was done by D Kumaresh.

The sequel, which hit theaters last year, enjoyed a remarkable 85-day run, much to the joy of its producers. The conclusion of the second film made it clear that the creators were committed to developing a third installment.
