Chennai, April 12 (NationPress) Director Ajay Gnanamuthu, who recently revealed that production of the third chapter of his acclaimed franchise ‘Demonte Colony’ is underway, has officially announced a casting call, seeking actors for roles in his horror film.

Notably, the casting invitation specifies that they are looking not only for male actors aged 20 to 70 and female actors aged 20 to 45, but also for international talent aged 8 to 50.

The announcement poster, shared by Ajay Gnanamuthu on his X timeline, stated, “Casting call for Demonte Colony III. We’re seeking actors to join our thrilling franchise. Men 20-70 years, women 20-45 years, foreigners 8-50 years. If you’re eager and ready for a new challenge, we want to hear from you.”

The poster included an email address for applicants to submit their audition videos and photos.

Just ten days prior, the director had confirmed that work on Demonte Colony 3 had commenced.

Anticipation is building around the third installment of Ajay Gnanamuthu's eagerly awaited horror-thriller Demonte Colony.

The Demonte Colony franchise is notable for being inspired by a real location in Chennai, which is reputed to be haunted.

This franchise set a new standard in the horror genre within Tamil cinema, beginning in 2015 with the original Demonte Colony, which achieved immediate success. Eight years after the first film, the sequel was released, also becoming a blockbuster.

The sequel featured actors Arulnithi and Priya Bhavani Shankar in leading roles, alongside Arun Pandian, Muthu Kumar, Meenakshi Govindarajan, and Archana Ravichandran in key roles.

Cinematography for the second film was handled by Harish Kannan, with music by Sam C S, art direction by Ravi Pandi, and editing by D Kumaresh.

Originally produced by Vijaya Subramaniyan for White Nights Entertainment alongside RC Rajkumar of Gnanamuthu Pattarai, Bobby Balachandran, a Cyber Forensics expert, acquired all production rights before the film was completed.

The sequel released last year enjoyed an impressive 85-day theatrical run, delighting its creators. The conclusion of the second film clearly indicated the makers' intention to produce a third installment, which is now officially in production.
