Dharmendra and Jaya have also shared the screen in legendary films, notably “Sholay.” Their most recent collaboration was in Karan Johar’s “Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.” This film featured Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as the main couple, with Dharmendra, Jaya, Shabana Azmi, Tota Roy Chowdhury, Churni Ganguly, Aamir Bashir, and Kshitee Jog in supporting roles.
In the film, Jaya Bachchan played Dhanlakshmi Randhawa, Rocky’s grandmother, while Dharmendra took on the role of Kanwal Lund, Rocky's grandfather. Produced by Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, this film marked Johar’s return to directing after “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” in 2016.
