Chennai, July 4 (NationPress) In a delightful revelation for supporters of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the former Indian cricketer and beloved 'Chinna Thala' Suresh Raina announced on Friday that M S Dhoni will indeed participate in the IPL for yet another year and is set to return to Chennai!
Raina, who is preparing to make his acting debut in a Tamil cricket film, shared this exciting news during a virtual event to inaugurate the film's production house.
Currently vacationing in Amsterdam with his family, Raina joined the event via video call.
Although he wished to be present, Raina expressed his regret for not being able to attend due to late notification.
When questioned about Dhoni, Raina confidently stated that Dhoni would be playing for one more year and returning to Chennai.
Additionally, Raina took a moment to congratulate Dhoni and his wife Sakshi on their wedding anniversary, saying, "Today marks 15 wonderful years for them."
A long-time pillar of CSK, Raina expressed his desire to see more local talent in the team. "With players like Badri, Murali Vijay, and Balaji already here, having local flavor adds charisma and enhances the team's dynamics. Our management is focused on incorporating local players," he remarked.
On discussing his choice to partner with the production house DKS for his acting debut, Raina explained, "DKS has an excellent director, and the story resonated deeply with us. Considering it’s a cricket film, it felt right to begin here in Tamil Nadu, where we've enjoyed tremendous support over the years with CSK."
In a light-hearted moment, when asked about his potential acting career, Shivam Dube humorously claimed he would be a romantic hero. Raina, in contrast, suggested he would excel as a singer, envisioning himself with a guitar, preparing delicious dosa for teammates, and relishing rasam rice, all while staying relaxed.
With laughter, Raina added, "While he (Shivam Dube) can be a romantic hero, I could be a romantic singer. We would make a great duo!"
