Mumbai, Dec 30 (NationPress) Actress Dia Mirza, known for her recent role in the streaming series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, is relishing the festive moments during her holiday.
On Monday, the actress shared a delightful collection of pictures and videos on her Instagram, showcasing her vibrant holiday experience. In the visuals, she is seen swinging, enjoying an ice-cream, listening to Christmas carols, and strolling along the beach.
She captioned her post, “Small joys”.
Previously, Dia praised her co-star Vijay Varma, with whom she collaborated in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. She admired Vijay's remarkable ability to act while confined to a single space, as required by his character in the series.
The series, directed by Anubhav Sinha, known for Thappad, Mulk, and Article 15, is inspired by the hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814 shortly after it entered Indian airspace. The hijackers commanded the aircraft to numerous locations, including Amritsar, Lahore, and various spots across the Persian Gulf and Dubai.
Eventually, they forced the aircraft to land in Kandahar, Afghanistan, which was under Taliban control at the time. The hijackers released 27 out of 176 passengers in Dubai but tragically fatally stabbed one and injured several others.
The motive behind the hijacking was to secure the release of Islamist terrorists imprisoned in India, including Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh and Masood Azhar, along with a Pakistani-backed Kashmiri militant, Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar.
These three individuals have since been linked to various terrorist activities, including the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, the 2002 kidnapping and murder of Daniel Pearl, the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, the 2016 Pathankot attack, and the 2019 Pulwama attack.
The series is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
