This jungle adventure film signifies Dibyendu's inaugural collaboration with Arijit, despite their shared cultural heritage.
Commenting on the singer's retirement from playback, Dibyendu Bhattacharya stated to IANS, “I perceive Arijit as a Sufi. Whether he is singing or directing, he embodies the essence of a Sufi. As a director, he radiates calmness. He engages with actors in profound discussions, ensuring no one feels overwhelmed. He facilitates a space for creativity to unfold naturally; it’s almost as if his camera is alive. For him, emotions take precedence over technicalities.”
Reflecting on Arijit's choice to withdraw from singing, Dibyendu remarked, “I admire his singing, and I truly believe he ranks among the world's finest vocalists. While I appreciate his directorial work, like many, I too hope he returns to singing in the future.”
The film, currently being filmed in Shantiniketan, also features Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a special role. The script is co-written by Arijit and Koel. Additionally, it showcases Nawazuddin Siddiqui's daughter, Shora, alongside Arijit's son, presenting a novel on-screen pairing. It is co-produced by Arijit and his wife Koel Singh, in partnership with Mahavir Jain.
Previously, Arijit announced his retirement from playback singing. In a heartfelt message, he expressed gratitude for the journey, stating, “I will not be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist moving forward. I am concluding this chapter. It has been a remarkable journey.”
In 2018, Arijit directed the Bengali film ‘Sa’, a lyrical coming-of-age narrative centered on a young boy and his relationship with music.
