Mumbai, July 14 (NationPress) Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh made his first public appearance on Monday, following the controversy that arose with his film “Sardaar Ji 3.”
The 'Udta Punjab' star was seen beaming and waving at the paparazzi while leaving the airport. As soon as Diljit emerged from the terminal, the photographers called out, “Paaji!” Although he didn’t pause for a photo opportunity, he greeted them with a warm smile, folded hands, and a friendly wave before entering his vehicle. For this airport outing, Diljit opted for a relaxed look in a white t-shirt paired with blue jeans, complemented by a striking red turban.
This outing marks his first public engagement since the uproar regarding “Sardaar Ji 3.”
The controversy stemmed from the film’s decision to cast Pakistani actress Hania Aamir as the female lead, which attracted significant backlash. This led the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) to issue a non-cooperation order against lead actor Diljit Dosanjh. Initially, FWICE placed a ban on him from participating in any film projects.
However, after an appeal from producer Bhushan Kumar, an exception was made for “Border 2,” allowing Diljit to continue filming under certain conditions. While he is permitted to complete work on this war drama, the non-cooperation directive still stands for new projects, which could complicate his future film endeavors.
Meanwhile, the ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ actor has been actively shooting for “Border 2” and sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses on social media. This upcoming war drama is helmed by Anurag Singh and features actors like Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty.
Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, it is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series in collaboration with J.P. Dutta’s production house, J.P. Films.
“Border 2” is slated for release on January 23, 2026.
