Did Dipika Kakar Overcome a Cancer Scare for Ruhaan?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Dec 6 (NationPress) Television actress Dipika Kakar has bravely shared one of her life’s most challenging experiences, recalling the moment she felt overwhelming fear at the prospect of a cancer diagnosis, with her sole wish being to recover for her son Ruhaan.
In a candid conversation with her husband Shoaib Ibrahim on the podcast Rashami Ke Dil Se Dil Tak on YouTube, hosted by actress Rashami Desai, the couple reflected on their journey from co-stars on the set of Sasural Simar Ka to life partners, as well as the emotional toll of Dipika's health scare.
Dipika recounted, “That was the first instance where I had to hand over Ruhaan to my mother as he was crying uncontrollably because I couldn’t feed him. At that moment, I broke down. I prayed from the bottom of my heart that if it’s cancer, I have no complaints. I just want to heal. I trust that you will make me better.”
She acknowledged the sheer terror that the word 'cancer' invokes in anyone.
“When someone is informed they have cancer, a part of them shatters. This is why Shoaib and I found ourselves crying in that lobby, holding each other tightly. However, we made a pact to stop crying after that.”
Dipika emphasized, “Throughout this ordeal, I had no concerns about my appearance, weight gain, or hair loss. My only desire was to recover and be present for Ruhaan.”
While discussing their romance, she shared that their bond blossomed through music.
“We spent our days communicating through song lyrics. In the morning, Shoaib would text me a line from a song, and I would respond with my own lyric choice. Music has been a significant aspect of our relationship.”
Reflecting on her time in Bigg Boss, Dipika credited Shoaib and her sister Saba for increasing her Instagram followers from under 1 million during her participation.
She recalled a heartwarming moment during family week when Shoaib visited the Bigg Boss house and recited a lovely poem for her. “I began writing poetry when Shoaib entered my life. Each contestant's family visited, and Shoaib's arrival was the last.”
“As I shared my poems with fellow housemates, just as I finished the last line, I heard Shoaib’s voice.”
She described their connection as beautiful, quoting him: “Baat use ki hoti hai jisme koi baat hoti hai.”
To lighten the mood, Shoaib humorously recounted his extreme fear of flying during a post-Nach Baliye trip to Goa.
He described their first experience flying business class amid torrential July rains, recalling how intense turbulence caused glasses to slide across the cabin, and they remained in the clouds for over 1.5 hours without landing.
Shoaib vividly painted his panic, gripping his seatbelt and praying fervently throughout the ordeal. Surprisingly, he noticed another couple nearby expressing their love, even amidst the turbulence.
