Chennai, Feb 25 (NationPress) Actress Divyabharathi, who stars as the female lead in India’s inaugural sea horror adventure, ‘Kingston’, which features actor G V Prakash in the lead, has revealed her character is a candlemaker in a church.
In an interview with IANS, Divyabharathi stated, "I portray a character named Rose. She specializes in making candles at a church in the film."
Reflecting on her experience working on the project, she mentioned, "I felt quite at ease collaborating with G V Prakash as we previously worked together in my last film, 'Bachelor'. The character I take on in this film is a stark contrast to my role in 'Bachelor'."
The plot centers around the title character Kingston, played by G V Prakash, who embarks on a journey to a cursed sea.
It’s worth noting that the entire cast underwent underwater swimming training with a specialized team from Mumbai. This team instructed the cast on how to hold their breaths underwater for three minutes, as certain scenes required them to perform while submerged.
This film holds special significance for G V Prakash as he not only acts and composes music for it but also serves as one of its producers.
“We have invested four times more than our usual film budget,” actor G V Prakash shared with IANS in a previous interview.
The film's teaser has generated immense anticipation ahead of its release on March 7 this year.
Directed by debut filmmaker Kamal Prakash, Kingston boasts a talented cast, including Divya Bharathi, Azhagam Perumal, Antony of ‘Merku Thodarchi Malai’ fame, Chetan, Kumaravel, Sabumon, and many others.
The film’s cinematography is led by Gokul Benoy, with dialogues crafted by Dhivek. Editing is managed by San Lokesh. Key technical roles include S.S. Moorthy in the art department and Dhilip Subbarayan in stunts.
This seaside fantasy adventure, set against a stunning coastal backdrop, is produced on a substantial budget by Zee Studios in collaboration with Parallel Universe Pictures, which is G V Prakash’s own production company.
