Los Angeles, Feb 26 (NationPress) Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson has become “numb over the loss” of his beloved dog but reassured fans that his furry companion, a French bulldog, “didn't suffer” for long.
The 52-year-old star shared the sad news on social media about the passing of his four-legged friend Hobbs.
He expressed: “I’ve been numb over this loss, but we’re extremely thankful for every bit of pure love he provided our family, and we’re grateful he didn’t endure long suffering as he peacefully departed during the night.”
The former WWE champion chose to accompany his message with the George Strait song 'What's Going On In Your World', as it felt “fitting”. He reflected on the mysteries of the afterlife, asking his canine companion to “come back and visit” him in the future, according to reports by femalefirst.uk.
He quoted the lyrics: “Lately, there’s been a lot that’s too big to talk about. Lonesome, lonely, heard it’s all the same.” He added that this song seemed appropriate as he pondered what was happening in Hobbs’ new world, acknowledging his own feelings of loss.
He continued: “Not sure how spirits work, but come back and visit occasionally so we can get into mischief and share some laughs again.”
The French bulldog was welcomed into Johnson’s home in 2015 and named after his character in the 'Fast and Furious' franchise.
Alongside Hobbs, he also adopted Brutus, who unfortunately passed away that same year after consuming a toxic mushroom. Johnson subsequently featured Hobbs in his film 'Hobbs and Shaw'.
He remarked: “As producer of @hobbsandshaw, I thought it was appropriate to cast my French bulldog in our film. Nepotism shmepotism.”
“Three years ago, we welcomed puppy Hobbs and his baby brother, Brutus, into our family. Sadly, we lost Brutus a few months later, which broke our hearts. However, this little beast Hobbs continues to live his best life every day, and I’m extremely proud of his role in our film.”
