Mumbai, Aug 11 (NationPress) The anticipated film ‘Echoes of Valour’, featuring Divya Dutta and Neeraj Kabi, is set to have a closed-door screening at the forthcoming Venice Film Festival. This film signifies the Hindi debut of Indira Dhar, previously unveiled by Shekhar Kapur at the Cannes Film Festival.
This touching biopic centers on the mother of an Indian army soldier. It has taken over four years to reach production and delves into themes of motherhood, grief, and the often-overlooked strength of women amidst conflict.
Indira Dhar expressed, “‘Echoes of Valour’ has been an intensely personal journey, exploring the delicate realms of love, loss, and the innate human drive for redemption. Having its initial intimate showing at Venice feels absolutely fitting. I am privileged to initiate the film’s dialogue globally in a space that appreciates both vulnerability and vision. Returning to the international festival circuit after ‘Putul’ has been both humbling and invigorating; this moment feels like a gentle homecoming.”
The film serves as a potent reflection of the emotional landscape shaped by conflict and the quiet resilience of those who face it.
Produced by Margaret Zambonini and IKA Studios, it will be showcased during a private closed-door event at the Venice Film Festival 2025.
Producer Margaret Zambonini remarked, “‘Echoes of Valour’ captivated my attention from the very beginning. I was instantly drawn to the narrative of Shukla Bandopadhyay, who as a mother faced the profound sorrow of losing her son to a terrorist at the Kashmir border. Her sole wish for peace compelled her to risk her life to connect with the mothers of the enemy’s soldiers and terrorists.”
“This moving tale encapsulates the deep love and passion of a mother. Through her brave actions, she found the strength to mourn for her son. As the daughter of a British soldier who endured significant hardship and the mother of three sons, I felt an immediate connection to the story,” she added.
The Venice Film Festival 2025 is scheduled to take place from September 6, 2025.
