Mumbai, March 23 (NationPress) Television and film producer Ektaa Kapoor expressed heartfelt birthday wishes for her 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' star Smriti Irani as she turns 49.
Ektaa shared a collage of cherished moments with Smriti and her little one, Ravi, over the years.
In her Instagram message, she wrote, "So many years of knowing you, celebrating every phase of life; this year marks a significant 25 years of Kyunki. In just a few months, I have witnessed your transformation into a formidable presence, a true shining star. Happy birthday, my dear friend, my favorite meme sharer, Ravi Masi, and for many, INDIA’S TULSI."
For those who may not know, co-produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under their banner Balaji Telefilms, the iconic series, 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', was aired from July 3, 2000, to November 6, 2008, on Star Plus.
On Friday, Ektaa disclosed the underlying reasons for the lackluster quality of Indian content.
She conveyed in her Instagram stories, "When Indian creators lament that our content is not comparable to globally recognized shows and films... I ponder whether it’s ego, frustration, or simply misguided claims."
She elaborated that when critically acclaimed films like 'Superboys of Malegoan' and 'Buckingham Murders' fail to perform at the box office, the audience should be held accountable for the deficiency of quality content in the nation.
"When Superboys of Malegoan and my dear friend @hanslmehta with 'Buckingham Murders' don't succeed in theaters, can we point fingers at the real culprits - the 'audiences'? And since it's not enjoyable to blame people in such vague terms (it's not fun to drag them down on social media), let’s just say that a significant portion of India is still evolving in terms of content! You could argue it’s in its adolescence," she concluded.
