Los Angeles, June 3 (NationPress) Academy Award winning actress Emma Thompson is set to be celebrated at the Locarno Film Festival, where her latest action thriller, “The Dead of Winter”, directed by Brian Kirk and which she executive produced, will make its world debut.
Thompson, renowned for being the only individual in the history of the Academy Awards to win Oscars for both acting and screenwriting, will receive the prestigious Leopard Club Award from this Swiss festival, recognized as Europe’s foremost event for independent cinema.
The festival commends Thompson for her extensive career in acting, writing, and producing, which encompasses both television and film, ranging from independent projects to major box office hits, as reported by variety.com.
A statement from the festival highlighted: “Thompson’s willingness to take risks with her roles has ensured her status as a dynamic force on both stage and screen for four decades, showcasing the profound admiration that she receives from generations of fans.”
