Nimisha Sajayan and Karunas-starrer 'Enna Vilai', the socio-political family thriller directed by Sajeev Pazhoor, has been officially selected for the Bridges International Film Festival in Greece, adding another international honour to a film that has already drawn global attention. The announcement was made through the film's official Instagram handle ahead of its theatrical release scheduled for September 2026.

A Rapid Run on the International Circuit

The Greece selection follows a string of international recognitions within a short span. Just days earlier, 'Enna Vilai' was chosen for the Atlanta Indian Film Festival in the United States and the Kaia International Film Festival in Istanbul, Turkey. The film had previously won the Best Feature Film award at the Mannheim Arts and Film Festival in Germany and the Best Screenplay Award at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival. The rapid accumulation of festival berths signals sustained critical interest across continents.

In an unusual promotional gesture, the makers chose to unveil the film's first look not through a celebrity event or digital campaign, but by returning to Paalam village in Dhanushkodi, where a significant portion of the film was shot. The villagers — who had been integral to the production — were entrusted with the honour of releasing the first look in what those present described as a deeply emotional celebration rather than a conventional launch.

Producer Githesh V said, 'Every film has a beginning, but very few get the opportunity to begin with gratitude... The villagers of Paalam welcomed us with immense warmth and made us feel at home throughout the shoot. We felt it was only right that this honour belonged to them.'

Director Sajeev Pazhoor added, 'During the making of Enna Vilai, the people of Paalam embraced us like family. Before the film reaches audiences across the world, we wanted it to first belong to the people who stood beside us from the very beginning.'
