Eva Longoria Contributes $50,000 to Support Families and Workers Affected by Fires in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, Jan 13 (NationPress) Actress Eva Longoria is stepping up to aid those suffering from the wildfires in Los Angeles. The 49-year-old actress recently posted an emotional video on Instagram amidst the ongoing crisis.
In her video, Longoria announced her donation of $50,000 to the organization This Is About Humanity, aimed at assisting frontline workers and families affected by the fires, as reported by People magazine.
"It's been a crazy week," she stated. "Devastating for so many people, so many friends who have lost a lot ... Memories and belongings that people have worked really hard for."
According to People, the Desperate Housewives star revealed that she and her family had to evacuate their home due to being "under a warning" and having a continuous alarm. She mentioned that she is currently hosting friends "who evacuated from other locations."
"We've donated clothes; I literally cleared out my pantry to take to all the places accepting donations," the actress continued. "I will be supporting This Is About Humanity. They are matching up to $50,000 for essential frontline workers and families impacted by the fires. I will personally match that $50,000."
She elaborated that the funds will "support all of these families who are working tirelessly to keep us provided with food. These farm workers are still out there, producing and harvesting our food under dangerous conditions. Thus, we will be supporting This Is About Humanity."
She concluded her video with a motivating message, urging Los Angeles residents to "just stay strong."
"I know there's a lot of discussion on social media. I believe this isn't the moment to dissect what went wrong. We need to manage the situation now," Longoria stated. "So to everyone out there helping and doing their part, thank you."
