The star of 'Desperate Housewives' embarks on a culinary journey across Spain in 'Searching for Spain', where she shares insights about her family background in a trailer for the series, according to femalefirst.co.uk.

Longoria, who now divides her time between Spain and Mexico after relocating from the US three years ago, mentioned in the trailer: "Eleven generations ago, one of my ancestors departed from Spain to seek a new life in the New World."

"Four centuries later, I'm returning to explore how the land and its people have shaped one of the globe's most vibrant cuisines," the 49-year-old actress remarked.

She revealed that the series enables her to "connect with distant relatives" during her travels.

"By preserving your culinary traditions and recipes, you can teach the world about your identity," she emphasized.

Previously, Longoria clarified that her move from the US had no ties to the political climate, stating that her relocation to Spain was purely for professional reasons.

In the 'Behind the Table' podcast, she explained: "I've spent nearly three years in Europe. My journey was work-related, not political."

The actress, originally from Texas, expressed pride in her American roots, asserting that the US elections did not influence her decision to move.

"I am a proud American, always have been. Proud of my Texan and American identity. I did not leave due to Trump or the elections," she stated.
