Mumbai, April 28 (NationPress) Choreographer and filmmaker Farah Khan along with Pooja Bedi recently reminisced about their experiences while filming the legendary “Pehla Nasha” scene from the 1992 gem Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, where the former actress made a memorable appearance atop a car.
In this iconic romantic track, Pooja elegantly channeled a classic Marilyn Monroe moment, as a gust of wind caught her red dress, causing it to dramatically billow while she gracefully stood on the vehicle. This scene became an unforgettable highlight.
Pooja, along with her daughter Alaya F, joined Farah on her YouTube show, where they whipped up some delicious blueberry protein pancakes.
During the show, Farah revealed to Alaya: “I have spent many days with your mother. I tried to make her dance a lot. I want to ask her whose genes she has got. Because you are a fantastic dancer.”
Alaya, who made her debut in Jawaani Jaaneman in 2020, responded: “Actually, I didn't know how to dance at all. I worked very hard on this.”
Pooja humorously added that there's a video of Alaya attempting to teach dance when she was in first grade.
When Alaya requested her mother not to share it, Pooja quipped: “Your dance then, is my dance now.”
Farah then asked Alaya if she had watched Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and if she was aware of the story behind the “Pehla Nasha” sequence, during which Pooja stood on the car.
Farah humorously mentioned that the spots were down while Pooja was on top of the car.
Pooja recounted: “He was standing behind. And every time they would put the stand under me. And I was standing like this. I am trying very hard to hold my dress down. So, I am standing there like this. Fan is going, fan is going.”
“I went on saying – nothing is going, nothing is going. Every now and then, nothing is happening. Every time I say, nothing is happening… Then I am holding it down…. And everyone is laughing. Why? Because it's down from the front here. But it's flying off the back. And that's the first spot…”
Pooja humorously revealed that the spot boy caught a glimpse of her underwear when the dress blew from behind, causing Farah to laugh.
“Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar” is a coming-of-age sports film directed by Mansoor Khan, featuring stars like Aamir Khan, Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori, Mamik Singh, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.
