Mumbai, June 26 (NationPress) Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh recounted an amusing experience from the set of ‘Ludo’. During a crucial scene, she needed to prompt her co-star Rajkummar Rao to begin his monologue, but she struggled to remember her lines.
In an interview with IANS, conducted ahead of the premiere of her latest film ‘Metro... In Dino’, she discussed the challenges of emotional detachment while acting. “As an actor, your influence on a film is limited. You can only play your part, and the director ultimately decides which takes to use. Our input is minimal,” she explained.
Fatima reminisced about the specific scene where Rajkummar Rao exhibited remarkable patience. Even director Anurag Basu offered her reassurance to alleviate her nerves.
She remarked, “That scene was pivotal for both Raj and me. I felt terrible for him. I had a few lines, which were essential for him to continue. I was supposed to provide him with cues, but I couldn't manage that. It was disheartening, and as my anxiety grew, so did my forgetfulness. Both Dada and Raj could have been frustrated but instead said, ‘Fatty, it's okay.’”
“This experience highlighted the support we often receive from others. Now, whenever I see someone stumble, I remain calm and understanding. Only those experiencing it truly understand,” she added.
In other news, ‘Metro... In Dino’ signifies Fatima’s second collaboration with Anurag Basu. The film is being brought to life by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in partnership with Anurag Basu Productions Pvt. Ltd., and is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anurag Basu, and Taani Basu.
Mark your calendars! The film is scheduled to hit theaters on July 4, 2025.
