Los Angeles, Feb 20 (NationPress) Singer-actress Lady Gaga has finally shared her thoughts on whether she would don the meat dress once more.
During a lie detector test interview for Vanity Fair, the 38-year-old artist was asked about some of her most unforgettable fashion statements.
When shown a picture of the controversial meat dress she wore at the 2010 MTV VMAs, Gaga was queried if she would ever choose to wear raw beef as a fashion statement again, as reported by people.com.
"I don't believe so, no," she responded.
The lie detector indicated that the results of her answer were "inconclusive," to which the Grammy winner exclaimed, "Oh. Well, that was unexpected."
The singer is also known for famously asking Cher to hold her purse made of raw meat when she accepted an award at the 2010 ceremony.
When asked if that moment brought her closer to Cher, Gaga replied: "I think so. In that moment."
Gaga's iconic dress, crafted by Franc Fernandez and made from real raw meat, stirred significant controversy on the red carpet.
The "Poker Face" singer later explained to Ellen DeGeneres that the dress wasn’t intended to offend vegans and vegetarians; rather, it had "many interpretations," one being that she isn’t a "piece of meat."
In 2015, it was revealed that Gaga still owned the dress, which was part of the "Women Who Rock" exhibition in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, touring across the country.
Jun Francisco, the Director of Collections, clarified that the dress needed preservation similar to beef jerky and was transported in a climate-controlled vehicle. The meat reportedly felt "very hard" to the touch and was displayed alongside Gaga’s matching meat shoes.
According to the Reno Gazette-Journal, the meat dress was set to be included in the exhibit at the Haus of Gaga museum in Las Vegas in 2019. During a 2019 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, fashion designer Brandon Maxwell, who styled Gaga for the 2010 VMAs, mentioned he was a vegan at that time.
