This project gained additional recognition from PM Modi in his Mann Ki Baat broadcast, highlighting its importance for families and children throughout the country.

The Japanese rendition of this Indian epic will be showcased in a digitally remastered 4K format, featuring enhanced audio for a more immersive cinematic experience. Viewers will have the option to watch the film in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and its original English version.

Under the visionary direction of V. Vijayendra Prasad, this new adaptation not only elevates the original masterpiece but also maintains its core essence. Geek Pictures is dedicated to ensuring that ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ captivates and inspires a contemporary audience, preserving its legacy for future generations.

The film is scheduled to be released in 4K for the first time in theaters across India on January 24, 2025. It will be theatrically distributed by Geek Pictures India, AA Films, and Excel Entertainment.

Initially premiered at the International Film Festival of India in 1997, the film was later broadcasted on television. ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ is a collaborative production between Japan and India, based on the Indian epic ‘Ramayana’. The film was directed by Koichi Sasaki and Ram Mohan, with a musical score by Vanraj Bhatia.

The narrative follows Prince Rama, the incarnation of the god Vishnu, as he embarks on a quest to rescue his wife Sita, who has been abducted by the demon king Ravana. This film stands as one of the earliest animated portrayals of a significant Hindu text.

Set to debut during the Indian festive season of Dussehra and Diwali, ‘Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama’ promises to be a vibrant cinematic experience, merging India’s cultural heritage with the excellence of Japanese anime. The film, distributed across India by Geek Pictures India, AA Films, and Excel Entertainment, is poised to enchant audiences nationwide.
