Chennai, Jan 24 (NationPress) Indian writer and director Gopinath Narayanamoorthy has officially become part of the creative team for Emirati director Nawaf Al Janahi’s upcoming English film titled ‘B’.
This English feature film is being produced by Adolf El Assal for a European production company known as Edgy Films, located in TwoFour54 studios, Abu Dhabi, and is headquartered in Luxembourg, Europe.
‘B’, which has been penned and directed by the well-established Emirati director Nawaf Al Janahi, is set to commence filming shortly.
Gopinath Narayanamoorthy, who has contributed to projects for the Royal Bank of Scotland and UBS in London, also has experience with a Goldman Sachs project in Hong Kong. Transitioning to filmmaking, he served as an associate director under R Kannan and Bejoy Nambiar. Notably, he worked on R Kannan’s ‘Ivan Thanthiran’, starring Gautham Karthik, and ‘Thalli Pogathey’, featuring Atharvaa Murali and Anupama Parameswaran.
Gopinath earned his degree in screenwriting and filmmaking from Rajiv Menon's Mindscreen Institute in Chennai.
The global distribution rights for his short film ‘Kothaiyin Kural’, produced by his company My Kinda Films, were acquired by AP International, which subsequently released the film on their YouTube channel with English subtitles.
This short film tells the story of a 12-year-old Indian girl who files a lawsuit seeking voting rights due to societal issues she faces, garnering attention from various production companies and directors at TwoFour54 studios in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
According to sources close to the writer, he is currently in discussions with an American production company at TwoFour54 Studios for a collaborative Indo-American feature film, details of which will be announced soon.
