Mumbai, Oct 4 (NationPress) Actor Gulshan Devaiah delivered an extraordinary performance as Prince Kulashekhar in the recently unveiled prequel, 'Kantara Chapter 1', directed by Rishab Shetty.
Feeling grateful for the overwhelming admiration, Gulshan expressed on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, “I’m so exhausted from hearing my name mentioned over the past few days... PLEASE DON’T STOP!! … Keep the praise coming. Just because I’m tired doesn’t mean you should stop too (sic).”
Choosing not to participate in the ongoing discussion of comparing Bollywood with regional cinema, Gulshan proudly claimed that he belongs to “cinema & art”.
In a response to one of his followers, who noted, “That’s the difference between Hindi and non-Hindi audiences. For Hindi viewers, you are merely an actor, but the regional audience truly embraces you. Eva nammava eva nammava,”
the 'Ulajh' actor warmly replied, “I wholeheartedly appreciate your sentiment... I’m both overwhelmed and thankful... Yella namma naadu, yella namma nudi (All our land, all our language)… I belong to cinema & art.
Gulshan also mentioned that he is eagerly anticipating more exciting opportunities ahead.
When another netizen commented, “Hope you receive the recognition you deserve. Thanks for your response,” Gulshan replied, “Recognition is incidental; what we need are good opportunities with good people.”
'Kantara Chapter 1' serves as the prequel to the acclaimed 2022 hit 'Kantara'.
Written and directed by Rishab Shetty, this mythological drama explores the deeper origins of the mythological tradition and ancestral conflicts first introduced in the original film.
Featuring Rishab Shetty as Berme, the film also includes Jayaram as King Rajashekara (father to Kulashekara & Kanakavathi), Ramitha Shailendra as Rajamathe Rajalaxmi (mother to Kulashekara and Kanakavathi), Rukmini Vasanth as Princess Kanakavathi (sister to Kulashekara and love interest of Berme), Pramod Shetty as Bhogendra (Kulashekara's minister), Naveen D. Padil as Booba, and Rakesh Poojari as Peppe (Booba's son).
Released in theaters on October 2, 'Kantara: Chapter 2' is garnering positive feedback from both audiences and critics alike.
