Mumbai, Oct 23 (NationPress) Kannada superstar and filmmaker Rishab Shetty, currently relishing the success of his recent film “Kantara: Chapter 1”, asserts that the genuine excitement of filmmaking starts with “calling the shots.”

Rishab took to Instagram to share a collection of behind-the-scenes images from the sets of his newest film, highlighting his role in calling the shots.

“Nothing compares to the excitement of directing, that’s where the true joy of filmmaking begins! #KantaraChapter1,” he captioned his post.

Recently, the actor has been sharing numerous insights into the making of the film. On October 13, Rishab revealed that he filmed the climax of 'Kantara: Chapter 1' with a swollen leg and a fatigued body.

“This was during the climax shoot—a swollen leg, an exhausted body... but today, the climax has become a spectacle that millions admire. This was only made possible through the blessings of the divine energy we believe in. Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported us..(sic).”

“Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1” features Jayaram, Rukmini Vasanth, and Gulshan Devaiah. Serving as a prequel to the 2022 film Kantara, it delves deeper into the roots of the tradition and ancestral conflicts introduced in the original film.

Set against the backdrop of pre-colonial coastal Karnataka, the movie investigates the ancient origins of the Bhuta Kola ritual and the lore explored in the initial film released in 2022. Similar to its predecessor, the prequel intertwines regional folklore, spirituality, and action, continuing the narrative of humanity's relationship with nature and the divine.

In the meantime, Kantara, released in 2022, revolves around Bhuta Kola, a traditional worship practice in the region. The story follows a Kambala champion who finds himself in conflict with a principled forest officer, leading to a larger struggle over sacred land, ancestral heritage, and the balance between nature and human law.
