Chennai, July 21 (NationPress) The production team behind director Rishab Shetty's much-anticipated film, Kantara: Chapter 1, which serves as a prequel to the smash hit Kantara, announced the completion of filming on Monday. Along with this news, they unveiled a video showcasing the intriguing process of creating the film.

Hombale Films, the studio backing this eagerly awaited project, shared the glimpse video on their X timeline.

They stated, "Wrap Up… The Journey Begins. The making video illustrates the substantial effort invested by both the crew and the film's director, Rishab Shetty. He mentions that the film was shot over three years, with thousands contributing to Kantara: Chapter 1. Rishab believes this project transcends mere filmmaking, representing a divine force.

In the glimpse video, Rishab Shetty expresses, "I have a dream: to narrate the story of my homeland to the world. Our village. Our people. Our beliefs. As I pursued this dream, thousands supported me. Over three years of hard work and two hundred and fifty shooting days. Despite challenges, my faith remained unwavering. The director emphasized that while filming has concluded, this marks a new beginning.

For those unfamiliar, Kantara was a pan-Indian blockbuster featuring Rishab Shetty in dual roles, alongside Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar. The story revolves around a Kambala champion in conflict with a principled forest officer.

The film garnered immense box office success and received critical acclaim from film industry legends nationwide. Tamil superstar Rajinikanth personally contacted the film's core team to congratulate them, dubbing the film a 'masterpiece'.

'Kantara: Chapter 1', the prequel to the blockbuster, is set during the reign of the Kadambas of Banavasi. It is both written and directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films.

The film features Rishab and Jayaram in lead roles. Filming for this action-packed narrative began in November 2023, with the first look and teaser released on November 27. Sources indicate that Rishab Shetty will portray a Naga Sadhu endowed with superhuman abilities. 'Kantara: Chapter 1' is slated for release on October 2, 2025, aligning with Gandhi Jayanti.
