Mumbai, December 5 (NationPress) Actor Gulshan Devaiah has continually showcased his remarkable acting skills with each new role he undertakes.

Having forged his own way in the film industry without the backing of any godfather, he has become an inspiration for many aspiring outsiders. In a recent conversation with IANS, he revealed who has profoundly influenced him throughout his journey.

“Manoj Bajpayee is my hero!” Gulshan expressed to IANS. “His presence instilled hope in me that positive changes could occur in life,” he continued. He further explained, “You aren't confined to the traditional image of a hero who dances and lip-syncs. While actors such as Nana Patekar, Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, and to some extent, Amol Palekar have paved the way, at a crucial time in my life, it was Manoj Bajpayee who truly made an impact. I discovered his work, and he became a significant source of inspiration. It was as if he was the light bulb I desperately needed.”

For those unfamiliar, Manoj Bajpayee has been a stalwart of the industry for nearly three decades. His impressive filmography includes titles like Kaun, Shool, Satya, and the recent OTT sensation Family Man, where he has consistently chosen roles that challenge him as an artist.

Discussing his own career, Gulshan, who has captivated audiences with his talent, acknowledged the challenges of thriving in the industry without a powerful connection. He candidly shared his thoughts on the ongoing 'Insider vs. Outsider' debate.

With passion, Gulshan addressed the nepotism discussion, criticizing actors who complain about losing opportunities to ‘insiders’. “Everyone has their own advantages. We often overlook our own privileges in comparison to millions who have less,” he stated to IANS.

“It’s nonsense. I’m fed up with it. Stop the complaining. I’m not suggesting that we accept injustice, but rather, let’s stop whining over trivial matters and focus on hard work,” he asserted. Gulshan emphasized that the entertainment industry is inherently competitive, unpredictable, and often unfair, which is fundamental to its nature. “Embrace the business reality. Are you ready for it? If not, perhaps you should consider another path,” he advised.

He also highlighted the significance of humility and persistent effort as the true secrets to achieving one’s aspirations. “Every artist believes they deserve more, but entitlement is not the solution. Who are you to assume you deserve better?” he challenged. “Keep working hard and remain hopeful. There are countless productive activities instead of whining about nepotism. It doesn’t affect me, and it shouldn’t affect anyone else either.”

Currently, Gulshan is receiving accolades for his latest series The Perfect Family, co-starring National Crush Girija Oak. The show addresses the stigma surrounding mental health in numerous Indian households and has been praised for its thoughtful narrative and compelling performances.
