Gurmeet Choudhary Believes Ranbir Kapoor Will Perfectly Embody Lord Rama

Mumbai, Dec 3 (NationPress) Actor Gurmeet Choudhary, who rose to fame by portraying Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s “Ramayan”, has shown his confidence in Bollywood icon Ranbir Kapoor’s potential to excel in the same role in Nitesh Tiwary’s “Ramayana” alongside Sai Pallavi.
Speaking about Ranbir Kapoor, he stated: “Ranbir is a remarkable actor who brings every character to life. Audiences embraced my portrayal of Ram because they sensed the essence of Ram within me, and I’m confident that Ranbir will also fully embody this role.”
Gurmeet also reminisced about his initial days in the role.
“When I took on the character in Ramayan, I was only 23 years old. The show was produced by Ramanand Sagar, who also created the legendary Ramayan featuring Arun Govil. Prior to that, I was entirely unknown to the audience and had never appeared on screen,” Gurmeet recalled.
He continued: “That’s exactly what Ramanand Sagar believed—when depicting a divine figure, the actor should not have an established public persona, allowing viewers to connect with the character on a spiritual level.”
Gurmeet recently starred in “Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein” Season 2, where he lost 10 kilos to fit his character’s look. To embody this intense and multifaceted role, Gurmeet underwent rigorous training.
Discussing the experience, he shared, “Portraying Guru was both demanding and thrilling. My director, Siddharth Sengupta, had a distinct vision for the character, which required extensive preparation.”
“I participated in several acting workshops, cut my long hair short, and adhered to a strict diet to achieve a lean physique. To get the desired appearance, I traveled to Bandra daily for sprinting, which ultimately led to my 10kg weight loss.”
“Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein” is a romantic crime thriller series available on Netflix, created and directed by Sidharth Sengupta. The series features Shweta Tripathi and Anchal Singh in lead roles, along with Saurabh Shukla, Surya Sharma, Arunoday Singh, and Brijendra Kala in supporting roles.
This season introduces Gurmeet Choudhary as Purva’s friend, who is determined to safely bring her back home. It’s a perilous game of survival, and with Gurmeet Choudhary’s impactful presence this season, the stakes have never been higher.
