Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, Jan 22 (NationPress) The renowned Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow recently shared her unique strategy for coping with anxiety, revealing that shouting at the bushes actually provides her with relief.
During an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on her Instagram Stories, Paltrow responded to a fan's query about how she deals with anxiety.
She explained, "I can't really escape anxiety, but I try to balance it by focusing on what I'm grateful for, practicing deep breathing, taking walks, and yes, shouting at the bushes (it helps) and being kind to myself."
Paltrow also touched upon her mental health when asked how she avoids "overfunctioning and burnout," as reported by people.com.
"I have neither avoided overfunctioning nor burnout. I'm currently working on getting better at it this year by prioritizing sleep and establishing boundaries between my work and personal time, but I still have progress to make."
In a November 2025 episode of her podcast, the goop, she mentioned her belief that she might have a bit of ADD, which often pulls her in multiple directions. "I wish to manage that better and maintain a sense of grounding throughout my day."
She remarked that receiving a negative work email can feel like "a slap in the face," and acknowledged that living in the public eye has impacted her nervous system.
"I've led a very intense life in the spotlight for an extended period, and being subject to public opinion can be overwhelming. I’m quite sensitive, as many of us are, and it takes a toll on my nervous system."
Paltrow also mentioned that her current hormonal phase is contributing to her anxiety, noting, "I think it's related to estrogen dominance, which heightens anxiety... So, it's a mix of physiological, psychological, emotional, and public life factors."
She is actively addressing her mental health with the help of therapists, including one who specializes in the nervous system.
Additionally, Paltrow stated that she finds healing through her family, children, and husband.
