Los Angeles, Feb 9 (NationPress) Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry, known for her portrayal of the weather-manipulating superhero Storm from 2000 to 2014 in the X-Men franchise, expressed her disappointment over not being part of the eagerly awaited Marvel film, Avengers: Doomsday.
At 59, Berry remains enthusiastic about the possibility of reprising her role in future projects.
In an interview with ScreenRant, she revealed, "Although I feel a sense of sadness about being left out of Doomsday this time, I know there will be more opportunities. I would gladly step back into that role in a heartbeat."
The actress proudly recounted her experience in the X-Men universe, according to femalefirst.co.uk.
Berry, the mother of daughter Nahla with fashion model Gabriel Aubry and son Maceo-Robert with actor Olivier Martinez, stated, "I hold the X-Men franchise in high regard, as it embraces the themes of being mutants and outcasts."
"There are films that I cherish watching with my kids, as they convey messages that I find crucial for their upbringing. They are truly beloved films," she added.
Berry played Storm, also known as Ororo Munroe, in several films including 2000's X-Men, 2003's X2: X-Men United, 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand, and 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Reflecting on her role, she stated, "Storm holds a significant place in my heart. I feel incredibly fortunate to have brought her to life."
Although Berry will not appear in Avengers: Doomsday, which is set for release on December 18, several of her X-Men co-stars will, including Sir Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Sir Ian McKellen (Magneto), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), Channing Tatum (Gambit), James Marsden (Cyclops), Alan Cumming (Nightcrawler), and Rebecca Romijn (Mystique).
The film will also feature Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), Sebastian Stan (James ‘Bucky’ Barnes), Wyatt Russell (U.S. Agent), David Harbour (Red Guardian), and Lewis Pullman (Sentry).
Despite not reprising his role as Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr. will portray the villain Doctor Doom. Additionally, the Fantastic Four, featuring Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (The Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing), will also be part of Avengers: Doomsday.
It has been confirmed that Chris Evans will reprise his role as Steve Rogers after last appearing as Captain America in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
However, Mark Ruffalo’s The Incredible Hulk will not feature in Avengers: Doomsday, despite the character's long-standing presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2012’s The Avengers. He was last seen in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.
Even though his alter ego is missing from this significant ensemble, Ruffalo remains open to the idea of portraying the Hulk in future ventures.
