Los Angeles, Feb 3 (NationPress) Actress Halle Berry has openly discussed the challenges of aging in Hollywood and her determination to resist being defined or diminished by it.

“Her character resonated with me. At this age, it often feels like you're being pushed aside and made to feel less valuable. You sense it in your workplace and from society at large,” she remarked while reflecting on her character, Sharon Coombs, in the forthcoming film, Crime 101.

The film features Berry alongside Chris Hemsworth as a seasoned insurance broker who uses her charm to secure business deals with wealthy clients.

“I have firmly decided that I will not allow myself to be erased,” stated the 59-year-old acclaimed actress in a conversation with The Cut, according to people.com.

“That’s why I’m on my menopause mission. I aim to be louder than I've ever been before.”

As she approaches her 60th birthday in August, Berry has also been an advocate for menopause awareness and women's health issues.

“This affects over 60 percent of women as we age. Everything gets dry! If we can discuss it openly and even laugh about it, we can remove the shame and embarrassment,” she explained.

Berry further expressed, “As I near 60, advocating for women’s health feels like a significant cause for my next chapter.”

Last year, Berry shared a playful photo on X, previously known as Twitter, captioning it simply, “this is 59,” along with a white heart emoji.

In the snapshot, the actress beamed while donning a gold bikini during a tropical getaway, accessorized with a checkered black and white headscarf, layered pendants, and aviator shades.

Berry began her professional journey as a model, winning several beauty pageants, including Miss Ohio in 1986, where she was the first runner-up in the Miss USA pageant that same year and finished sixth in Miss World.

Her career breakthrough came with the romantic comedy Boomerang in 1992, co-starring Eddie Murphy, which led to subsequent roles in The Flintstones and Bulworth.
