'HARRD DISK' trailer: Nanda Yadav, Jaihind Kumar in high-stakes thriller
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
The official trailer of HARRD DISK, an upcoming action-comedy suspense thriller, was unveiled on 13 August in Mumbai, offering audiences a first look at a high-voltage narrative built around crime, political intrigue, and dark humour. The film stars Nanda Yadav, Jaihind Kumar, and Arnav Chandel, who find themselves entangled in a dangerous conspiracy centred on a mysterious hard disk.
The Story at the Centre
The trailer sets up a world where a single piece of digital storage becomes the flashpoint for a collision between politicians, police officers, criminals, and journalists. Nanda Yadav, who also serves as one of the film's producers, plays Lakshmi — a sharp, unpredictable character whose decisions push the narrative into increasingly complex territory.
Describing her character, Yadav said, 'What I loved about Lakshmi is that she never waits for validation or permission to take charge of her destiny. She is curious and instinctive and knows how to navigate the system she operates within. And when needed, she isn't afraid to manipulate it to achieve her objectives.'
What Inspired the Film
Director Udoyrraj Baruah, who also wrote and produced the film, drew on the real-world power of data as his creative starting point. 'What inspired me was the immense power of information today — a file, recording, photograph, or piece of data can change the fate of individuals, institutions and even governments,' Baruah said. 'I wanted to turn that invisible power into a physical object, the hard disk — and explore what happens when it lands in the hands of an ordinary young man, drawing politicians, police officers, criminals and a journalist into a high-stakes race.'
Baruah added that beneath the thriller format lies a distinctly human story: 'It is this human element that ultimately made me want to tell HARRD DISK.'
