Mumbai, May 10 (NationPress) Actress Hina Khan has expressed that she is facing significant hate and abuse for her unwavering support of her nation during these trying times. She emphasized her pride in being Indian and vowed to stand by her country despite any negative reactions.

In her Instagram stories, Hina shared, “Throughout my life, I have only encountered warmth from across the border. After voicing my support for my country during and after Operation Sindoor, many have hurled abuses at me, cursed me, and some have even unfollowed me. Numerous others are threatening to do so (sic).”

The actress, who is battling stage 3 breast cancer, revealed that the threats she has received include personal insults aimed at her health, family, and faith.

“These threats come with a barrage of insults, indecent and derogatory hate not just directed at me but also aimed at my medical situation, my family, and my beliefs. I don't require your support for my country; it's fine if you support yours. I don’t expect you to grasp the complexities beyond our mutual estrangement. I merely hoped you would behave with a basic level of humanity, as I have towards you all (sic).”

She further stated, “But I guess that's where we differ. I am nothing if not an Indian. I will always prioritize being Indian. So, go ahead. UNFOLLOW ME. I am indifferent. I did not insult or curse any of you; I simply supported my country…”

Hina reiterated her commitment to her nation.

“What you say reveals your character. Your choices shape your ideology. How you behave in challenging times reflects your depth as a human being. This has nothing to do with me. Regardless of the circumstances, I will always support my country. Jai Hind.”

The escalation followed India’s initiation of Operation Sindoor, which involved targeted strikes on nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives.

On the night of May 8 and 9, Pakistan reportedly deployed between 300 and 400 drones, preliminarily identified as Turkish-made Asisguard Songar models. Many of these drones were intercepted using a combination of kinetic and electronic warfare systems, including the Barak-8 and S-400 Triumph missile defense platforms, Akash SAMs, and indigenous anti-drone technologies.

Key locations targeted included Srinagar airport, the Awantipora airbase, Nagrota, Jammu, Pathankot, Fazilka, and Jaisalmer.
