Hrithik Roshan Calls Actors Performing Their Own Stunts 'Foolish'
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 16 (NationPress) Actor Hrithik Roshan once candidly expressed his views on the practice of some actors undertaking their own stunts in an interview with Lehren TV.
In the discussion, Hrithik did not hold back, addressing the dangers associated with stunt performances and emphasizing that actors should depend on skilled professionals rather than putting themselves at risk.
Hrithik stated, “I’m not in favor of performing your own stunts. I find it foolish. It should be prohibited.”
He elaborated, “This isn't about ego. As an actor, you are crafting a magical and fantastical realm. Numerous elements contribute to this illusion including your makeup, dialogue, hair, and wardrobe—all designed to render the unreal believable.”
“There are specialists for every specific role who assist in piecing together that entire world incrementally.”
“The role of a stuntman is to execute stunts. They come into that environment, perform their task, and contribute to the larger picture, allowing you to continue your work. Having an ego here is akin to proclaiming you will write your own dialogues. It is absurd,” he added.
Hrithik has starred in many action-oriented films throughout his career.
His journey in the superhero genre commenced with Koi... Mil Gaya, which evolved into the acclaimed Krrish series, including Krrish 3.
These films featured numerous high-intensity action scenes, many executed with the assistance of professional stunt performers.
During the filming of Krrish, Hrithik attempted some stunts personally. In one instance, his character had to leap from one building to another using a harness.
In a previous interview, filmmaker and Hrithik’s father, Rakesh Roshan, disclosed that this sequence almost turned perilous when the harness unexpectedly snapped, resulting in Hrithik falling from a significant height.
Luckily, he emerged from the incident without major injuries.
Hrithik Roshan made his Bollywood entry with the hit film Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai, directed by his father, Rakesh Roshan.
Over time, Hrithik has produced numerous blockbuster films, including Jodhaa Akbar, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and Super 30.
