Mumbai, Nov 4 (NationPress) Huma Qureshi, gearing up to bring back her beloved character of Rani Bharti in the fourth season of “Maharani”, revealed that her journey as an actress has deepened her connection with humanity rather than shifting her political stance.
When asked about her growth through portraying various roles in women's leadership and whether it has piqued her interest in real-life leadership and politics, Huma responded to IANS: “No, my political views have not changed.”
She emphasized: “I identify strongly as a humanist, and to me, humanity transcends everything. In fact, working on this show has allowed me to connect with my humanity on a much more profound level.”
As the industry transforms with new narratives and the representation of women, the actress expressed her desire to portray authentic and multi-dimensional strong women on screen.
“I always aim to portray real, vibrant, three-dimensional, robust women, and my career reflects that commitment,” she stated.
“I wish to continue this in every future project — be it Rani Bharti in Maharani, Meena in Delhi Crime, or Single Salma. For me, strength and womanhood are intertwined,” she added.
Huma will be featured in the upcoming fourth season of “Maharani”, which introduces two new cast members, Rajeshwari Sachdev and Darsheel Safary.
Directed by Puneet Prakash and produced by Kangra Talkies Pvt. Ltd. under the creative vision of Subhash Kapoor, Maharani 4 includes a cast of Huma Qureshi, Shweta Basu Prasad, Vipin Sharma, Amit Sial, Vineet Kumar, Shardul Bhardwaj, Kani Kusruti, and Pramod Pathak.
The fourth season of Maharani is set to premiere on November 7 on Sony LIV.
Previously, Huma discussed her project ‘Single Salma’, addressing how “the struggle is real”.
She pointed out the hurdles that smaller, content-focused projects encounter in getting sufficient theatrical exposure against larger, franchise-based releases.
She remarked, “We lack the massive marketing budgets or star power, making it difficult for heartfelt, content-driven narratives to gain visibility. The industry still leans towards safer, larger titles, but what we truly need is equilibrium.”
Regarding Delhi Crime Season 3, the new chapter will see Madam Sir, reprised by Shefali, confront Badi Didi, who builds her empire at the expense of young girls' futures.
Tanuj Chopra returns to helm “Delhi Crime S3”, with actors Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Jaya Bhattacharya, and Anuraag Arora reprising their roles.
The cast expands with Huma Qureshi, Sayani Gupta, Mita Vasisht, Kelly Dorji, and Anshumaan Pushkar delivering powerful performances that elevate the series to its most exhilarating season yet.
