Chennai, Jan 25 (NationPress) A fresh video showcasing the creation of Ilaiyaraaja's inaugural English classical symphony, ‘Valiant’, has been launched, delighting the composer’s dedicated fans.
The symphony was recorded by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. The footage features Ilaiyaraaja interacting with the musicians of the orchestra.
He expresses, “Every day, I used to record a song or a film score. I am a film composer,” he stated. “Suddenly, I had the idea to compose a symphony. When I began writing, I never envisioned recording with you all. It was beyond my imagination. In music, there is no good or bad. Each note stands perfect on its own.”
Regarding his collaboration with Ilaiyaraaja, Mikel Toms from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra remarks, “This is a truly fascinating, vibrant, and rich musical piece. It’s intriguing because he is an Indian composer deeply rooted in the world of Indian film music, yet he is here composing for a Western classical orchestra.
