Mumbai, June 1 (NationPress) Bollywood actress Ileana D’Cruz, currently immersed in her new role as a mother with “diapers and baby bum cream,” shared that she was approached to reprise her character in the Ajay Devgn-led ‘Raid 2’. However, scheduling conflicts arose as she had recently welcomed her baby.
During a lively Q&A session with her fans on Sunday morning, a follower expressed their longing for her presence in “Raid 2” and Indian cinema at large, inquiring about her possible return.
Ileana responded, “I miss working in movies too, and I would have loved to be part of Raid 2. The original Raid was a significant film for me, and portraying Malini was a remarkable experience, especially under the guidance of my director Raj Kumar Gupta and working alongside Ajay once more,” she shared.
“While the producers of Raid 2 did extend an offer to me, we couldn't finalize a schedule due to my new responsibilities as a mother. My priorities have shifted considerably,” explained the actress, who took on the role of Malini Pathak in the 2018 film “Raid.”
In May 2023, she tied the knot with her partner Michael Dolan and welcomed their son in August 2023.
She also complimented Vaani Kapoor, the actress who starred in the new installment. “I think Vaani looked fabulous in all the promotional material I've seen, and I'm sure she infused her own charm into the role. I hope this clarifies any misunderstandings,” Ileana remarked.
When another fan asked why she has been absent from the silver screen, she quipped, “Because I'm busy with diapers and baby bum cream.”
Reflecting on motherhood, Ileana described it as “the hardest challenge I’ve faced. It’s nothing like I expected—it's all-consuming and non-stop. Yet, the joy I feel every time my little one smiles or holds me makes me feel invincible,” she stated.
In response to queries about her pregnancy experience, she admitted, “Initially, it was difficult for me to accept help because I wanted everything to be perfect for my baby. While you believe you know what’s best for your child, sometimes a little assistance is necessary.”
