Chennai, Nov 26 (NationPress) According to circulating speculation within the film industry, the beloved Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi is rumored to have a significant role in the highly anticipated film 'Jailer 2' starring the legendary Rajinikanth.
Insider reports suggest that Vijay Sethupathi has commenced filming, as the project is currently being directed by the talented Nelson. It's believed that the crew of 'Jailer 2' is presently shooting in Goa, with scenes featuring Vijay Sethupathi being filmed at this moment.
However, there has yet to be any official statement confirming Vijay Sethupathi's participation in the movie.
Earlier this year, in May, Rajinikanth mentioned that the production of 'Jailer 2' would continue until December.
While addressing reporters upon his departure from Chennai airport, Rajinikanth stated, "The shooting of 'Jailer 2' is progressing smoothly. We expect to wrap it up by December."
The excitement surrounding 'Jailer 2' has reached new heights, largely due to the overwhelming success of the first installment, which grossed approximately Rs 650 crores.
The filming of the sequel began initially in Chennai. The production house, Sun Pictures, announced the start of filming on March 10 this year.
Interest surged when Sun Pictures released a captivating teaser that combined humor with thrilling elements.
Shortly after, actress Ramya Krishnan shared a post celebrating her first day of shooting for the sequel at Attapaadi, Kerala.
She noted, "It's been 26 years since Padayappa, and now I’m on the set of 'Jailer 2."
In the film, Ramya Krishnan portrays Vijaya Pandian (also known as Viji), the spouse of Rajinikanth's character Muthuvel Pandian.
Reports also indicate that actress Mirnaa, who plays Swetha Pandian, Rajinikanth's daughter-in-law, will hold a significant role in the sequel.
Additionally, Kannada superstar Dr Shiva Rajkumar and Malayalam superstar Mohanlal are also expected to feature in 'Jailer 2', although official confirmation is still pending.
Music composer Anirudh, whose soundtrack significantly contributed to the success of the first film, is also on board for the sequel.
