Mumbai, Oct 2 (NationPress) On the occasion of Asha Parekh's 83rd birthday this Thursday, actor Jackie Shroff extended his warm wishes to the iconic actress from the past.

He took to his Instagram stories, posting two images of Asha Parekh. The first image shows him with the legendary star, while the second is a nostalgic snapshot of her from her youth.

In his caption, he expressed, “My respect always!”

He also shared the classic song “O Mere Sona Re Sona Re” from the 1966 mystery thriller film Teesri Manzil, famously sung by Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhosle.

Reflecting on Asha Parekh's illustrious film career, she began as a child actor before making her mark as a leading lady with the 1959 film Dil Deke Dekho.

Known as Bollywood’s golden girl, she starred in numerous hit films, including Teesri Manzil, Love In Tokyo, Caravan, Udhar Ka Sindur, Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki, Aan Milo Sajna, and Mera Gaon Mera Desh, among many others.

Asha's last appearance was in the 1995 film “Andolan,” which featured stars such as Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Mamta Kulkarni, and Somy Ali. This marked the veteran actress's retirement from the silver screen.

As for Jackie, he is currently starring as the antagonist, 'The Salesman', in the action-packed drama Hunter 2. He will also appear in the upcoming film “Welcome To The Jungle,” directed by Ahmed Khan, alongside a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Lara Dutta, and many more.

Jackie also commemorated 27 years of his 1998 film “Bandhan,” featuring Salman Khan, Rambha, and Ashwini Bhave. This film is a remake of the Tamil movie Pandithurai.

The story revolves around Pooja, who, confronted with infertility, must decide whether to accept her husband’s new mistress or leave the marriage. Her brother, Raju, chooses to fight for her and helps restore her relationship with her husband.
