Los Angeles, June 23 (NationPress) Rap artist Jay-Z made an unexpected appearance at his wife Beyonce's concert in Paris. The 43-year-old vocalist invited her husband onto the stage at Stade de France during her third show of the Cowboy Carter Tour in the city.
The couple performed ‘Crazy in Love’ together for the first time in over six years, according to reports from Female First UK.
Fan videos circulating online, including one from Cardi B, who was present in the audience, captured the moment when Beyonce stepped aside during 'Crazy in Love' as Jay-Z made a surprise entrance on stage to deliver his rap verse.
Additionally, Jay-Z joined his wife for a rendition of ‘Drunk in Love’, remixed with Partition, along with his own track N* in Paris, originally a collaboration with Kanye West.
As noted by Female First UK, the last time the couple shared the stage was at the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 in Johannesburg, South Africa, back in December 2018. This duet marked the first time Beyonce performed 'Drunk in Love' on her Cowboy Carter Tour, and her shows in Paris also featured another new addition to the setlist.
On June 19, Miley Cyrus made a surprise appearance, joining the former Destiny's Child member for the live debut of their ballad 'II Most Wanted'. Before Miley emerged from beneath the stage, Beyonce expressed her excitement, stating, “I’m so thrilled because I wanted to do something incredibly special for you all. I couldn’t do it without this young lady’s assistance, so I need you to cheer as loud as you can for this icon. I’m your biggest fan and so grateful to sing alongside you, Miss Miley Cyrus.”
This performance marked the first time they had sung the song together live. Miley wrote the song and previously described it as a “dream come true” to collaborate with the Texas-born artist.
She shared with W Magazine, “I wrote that song about two and a half years ago. My mom always said, ‘I love that song so much.’ So when Beyonce contacted me about music, it immediately came to mind because it truly reflects our relationship. I told her, ‘We don’t need to go country; we are country. It’s part of who we are.’ With you from Texas and me from Tennessee, so much of us will resonate in this song. Writing a song, not just singing it, for Beyonce was a dream realized.”
