Mumbai, Sep 29 (NationPress) Actress-politician Jaya Bachchan was spotted sharing a heartfelt embrace with Kajol during her family’s traditional Durga Puja festivities in Mumbai on Saptami.
The atmosphere was vibrant on Monday as Jaya made her entrance at the Mukherjee family pandal in North Mumbai, exuding elegance in an ivory saree accentuated with a touch of gold, complemented by a tidy bun.
Following her offering of pushpanjali, Jaya joined Kajol, who looked absolutely radiant in a yellow ombre saree, near the idol of Goddess Durga. The two shared a warm hug before joyfully posing for the photographers.
Kajol, who collaborated with Jaya in the iconic 2001 film “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”, was later seen interacting with police officials at the venue. She also spent precious moments with her close friends, actor Vatsal Sheth, his wife Ishita Dutta, and their son Vaayu. Kajol was first observed playing with the little one before gently cradling him in her arms.
On September 28, Kajol expressed that this year’s visit to the Durga Puja pandal was particularly challenging following the loss of her uncle Deb Mukherjee, father of filmmaker Ayan Mukherjee.
She took to her official Instagram account to share a series of photographs from the celebrations, where she posed with her sister Tanishaa Mukerji and cousins, Rani and Ayan Mukerji.
She conveyed her emotions about how the pandal visit felt both difficult and more meaningful this year.
The actress wrote: "The unveiling... such an emotional moment... to step on the pandal after this past year and all our losses, somehow it was dearer and at the same time so tough to do... we miss them all (Folder hands and red heart emoji) (sic)."
Deb Mukherjee passed away on March 14 this year at the age of 83.
