Mumbai, March 27 (NationPress) Music composer Jeet Gannguli, who crafted the score for the streaming series ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’, has provided an insightful breakdown of the instruments featured in the show’s soundscape.

The composer stated, “The initial layer of the track integrates traditional Bengali elements. I’ve infused the sounds of ‘ullu’, a sacred, celebratory tone prevalent at Bengali weddings, poojas, and festivals. Following this is the melody of the ‘ek tara’, a one-stringed instrument that has historically represented the mystical Baul tradition.”

He elaborated, “The rhythmic essence is introduced with the ‘khomok’ and ‘kanjira’, percussion instruments that energize Bengal’s folk spirit. My aim was to capture the very essence of Bengal, and I am extremely happy that audiences are resonating with it.”

After their successful partnership on ‘Rustom’, Jeet has once again collaborated with director-producer Neeraj Pandey. The title track delivers a potent auditory experience, showcasing the raw vitality, tradition, and rich musical legacy of Bengal.

Expressing gratitude for the audience's positive response to the album, Jeet remarked, “I am deeply thankful for all the affection and blessings. Music possesses the ability to narrate a story, and I’m privileged to join Neeraj Pandey on this journey. ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ is significant, and I hope this song leaves a lasting impression.”

Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ is available for streaming on Netflix.

With over two decades in the music industry, Jeet initially collaborated with the famed composer of Hindi cinema, Pritam, on the album ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’. However, they parted ways due to a misunderstanding, leading Jeet to establish his own distinct identity with music in ‘Aashiqui 2’, ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’, and more.
