Los Angeles, Jan 8 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Jennifer Garner has opened up about her split from former husband Ben Affleck, revealing that what truly challenged her was the dissolution of their family and genuine partnership.
In an interview with Marie Claire UK regarding her current life and the forthcoming second season of her series The Last Thing He Told Me, the 53-year-old star reflected on the difficulties she faced during her separation with Affleck in 2015.
“You need to be wise about what you can manage, and I found it overwhelming. Yet, the external situations were not what impacted me the most. The essence of it all was what was challenging. The true challenge was the breakdown of a family. Losing a genuine partnership and friendship was incredibly tough,” she stated.
Following Garner’s widely covered separation from Affleck, with whom she shares three children: Violet Anne, Seraphina Rose, and Samuel, she emphasized the importance of community. The actress noted, “I made a significant, conscious effort to connect with my loved ones as often as I could, for that’s what truly matters.”
Garner shared, “Your resilience lies within your relationships and the people who support you through tough times.”
After a decade of marriage, the couple officially divorced in 2018.
Garner also discussed her current priorities, including her advocacy efforts with Save the Children US and Once Upon a Farm, alongside her role as a mother.
“My kids are just amazing!” she expressed, referring to her children, aged 20, 17, and 13.
She elaborated, “Parenting has evolved. It’s more about allowing them to grow and make their own decisions, rather than trying to control everything.”
Currently in a relationship with businessman John Miller, Garner admitted that co-parenting with Affleck while under the public eye has been “the most challenging aspect. It’s not hard in the grand scheme of things, but it’s tricky for me and my family.”
