Key Takeaways
Chennai, March 21 (NationPress) The production team of director M Rajesh's upcoming full-length comedy feature, 'Jolliya Irrundha Oruthan', starring actor Jiiva, has officially announced the completion of its shooting.
On Saturday, Malik Streams Corporation, the film's production company, shared the news via their X timeline, stating, "It's a Wrap - Our shoot Journey Is Over for #JIO. @jiivaofficial @i__ivana @rajeshmdirector @thisisysr. Proudly produced by @malikstreams. @prosathish @linqmarqet #JolliyaIrunthaOruthan #jiothemovie #malikstreams."
The announcement was accompanied by a behind-the-scenes video showcasing the crew during filming and the concluding moments of the shoot.
It’s noteworthy that the title for the film was revealed in January this year.
Numerous celebrities from the Tamil film fraternity, including actors Santhanam, Arya, Vishal, and producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, had participated in unveiling the title on Jiiva's birthday.
The makers had also released a comical title announcement video in which director M Rajesh, renowned for his comedic hits like 'Siva Manasulla Sakthi', 'Boss Engira Baskaran', and 'Oru Kal Oru Kannadi', along with actor Jiiva, dressed as sheikhs while waiting in a Dubai hotel for music director Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Upon Yuvan's arrival, the pair is greeted, and a curious Yuvan inquires about their attire. Director Rajesh explains, "The producer suggested we match your vibe since you were in Dubai and asked for songs for our film."
Yuvan humorously responds, "Dressed like this, you won’t get songs, only laughter." He insists they change clothes, but they admit to having no alternatives.
Agreeing to overlook their outfits, Yuvan begins discussing the movie. He questions, "Is this a sequel to Siva Manasulla Sakthi?" Rajesh clarifies, "This is not SMS 2, but it will have a similar feel. You might say it belongs to the same universe."
Yuvan prompts Rajesh to share the story, to which Rajesh responds, "It’s a pun-filled love story about how a carefree jolly guy is worn down by a relationship, much like a washing machine cleans and dries clothes."
When Yuvan requests the film's title, they reveal, 'Jolliya Iruntha Oruthan'. Just as Yuvan attempts to create an acronym, the duo urges him to refrain, concerned about potential copyright issues.
As the director inquires when Yuvan will start composing, Yuvan recalls their previous collaboration, saying, "How many days did we take for 'Siva Manasulla Sakthi'?" Rajesh replies, "Three days." Yuvan then confidently states, "We’ll finish all songs for this film in just two days."
Excited, Rajesh asks when work will begin, and Yuvan assures, "I’ll let you know when those two days arrive." However, the phone rings, and it’s not Yuvan but the rental service for their Sheikh costumes.
Rajesh exclaims, "Let’s hurry before the producer adds this cost to the budget!" as they rush to leave.
This film marks Jiiva’s 47th venture and is being produced by Malik Streams. Reports suggest that J.I.O will be a delightful mix of love, heartbreak, and humor.
The film’s cinematography is by M Sukumar, with music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Editing duties are handled by Ashish Joseph, while art direction is managed by Hasini Pavithra.
