What Did Kaley Cuoco Call the ‘Best Decision’ in Her Relationship?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
In Los Angeles, on February 11, NationPress reported that former Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco revealed that she shares her bed with several of her dogs and her two-year-old daughter, Matilda, while her partner, Tom Pelphrey, has opted to sleep in the guest room for some tranquility.
During her appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, Cuoco recounted, "He said, 'I can't do this anymore.' I replied, 'I get it.' So, he began sleeping in the guest room." Cuoco has since grown fond of this arrangement, even though she was initially apprehensive when Pelphrey suggested it in couples therapy, according to femalefirst.co.uk.
She elaborated, "At first, I thought, 'What will others think?' He pointed out that we hardly see each other at night. It's not our romantic time; we don’t cuddle. He asked, 'Why does it matter?' That made me realize, 'You know what? I don’t care.' He proposed we give it a shot, and it turned out to be the best decision we've ever made."
The 40-year-old actress noted that she and the Ozark star have significantly different sleeping habits.
She explained, "He works at night, reading and writing. That's his quiet time. He stays up late and wakes up late on days off. We established this from the beginning. I prefer to go to bed early and wake up early. Our schedules couldn't be more different."
Cuoco has two previous marriages, to Ryan Sweeting and Karl Cook. She had previously claimed she wouldn't marry again after her second divorce, but her feelings changed after meeting Pelphrey.
On The Drew Barrymore Show, Cuoco shared, "A few years ago, during my divorce, I had this crazy experience. It was the premiere of the second season of Flight Attendant.
"That morning, I was overwhelmed with sadness, lying on the floor, feeling like I was going to die. I thought, 'What am I doing?' That morning was dreadful, yet the night ahead was supposed to be fantastic. Sometimes, such contrasting emotions occur simultaneously.
"I was paralyzed, thinking, 'I can't go anywhere.' I felt like my life was over, convinced I’d never marry again or have children.
"Lying there, I realized, 'This is what they mean by rock bottom.' It was supposed to be my career's pinnacle, yet I felt utterly lost. I still get emotional recalling that moment, but it transformed me into a new person."
Cuoco feels no regrets about her changed perspective, especially after getting engaged to Pelphrey, 43, in August 2024.
She concluded, “Sometimes, folks, it’s alright to change your mind. You might not have known I was lying on the floor before my premiere, feeling desperate... It takes time to understand that and to forgive oneself.”
