Kaley Cuoco Dreams of Playing Dolly Parton in Biopic
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, March 3 (NationPress) Hollywood star Kaley Cuoco has revealed her desire to portray Dolly Parton in an upcoming biopic. The renowned actress, known for her role in ‘The Big Bang Theory’, is 40 years old and has a deep admiration for the 9 to 5 singer, having heard countless wonderful things about the country music legend.
Recently, her co-star from ‘Vanished’, Sam Claflin, suggested that Cuoco would be a great fit to play Parton, to which she excitedly responded, “Oh yes! That is a fantastic idea. I am truly in love with her; I hear the most delightful things about her,” according to ‘Female First UK’.
In a chat with NME, she shared, “What I admire about her is that she and her husband lived in separate residences. Although he has passed, she often spoke about their long-lasting bond, and I think, ‘That’s the way to do it’. Just having your own space and then coming together for dinner sounds ideal!”
According to ‘Female First UK’, Dolly and her late husband, Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025 at the age of 82, were married for an impressive 58 years, maintaining a low profile throughout their relationship.
Earlier this year, Amanda Seyfried also expressed her desire to depict Dolly in a future project. In an interview with Deadline, she stated, “Dolly Parton is one of the finest human beings on the planet. Portraying her would be a joy.”
In 2022, Dolly mentioned that she was in discussions to adapt her life story into a biopic, expressing interest in Kristin Chenoweth taking on the role. Appearing on the Mr. Nashville Talks podcast, she noted, “We were considering a Broadway musical adaptation, but then COVID changed many of my plans. I still aim to tell my story, possibly as a feature film or even a musical. I believe Kristin Chenoweth would be perfect for the role.”
“She’s simply incredible. I envision needing portrayals of different stages of my life: a young Dolly, a middle-aged Dolly, and then an older version,” she added.
